I agree with both. However, I will say that it’s wonderfully written characters that stay with me.

Character. I used to think both, certainly plot still matters, but I could read about two people doing nothing but walking around a city and talking if they’re interesting enough. So I prefer characters to plot.

Character driven. I agree that the plot is also important. But even the most interesting plot line doesn’t matter if you don’t care about the characters. And it’s hard to care about poorly developed characters.
