Not really but they’re both great books!

The reason why I’m asking is doctor sleep says #2 on Goodreads.

they make enough references to Danny’s childhood in Dr Sleep so you won’t feel lost or anything.

But Dr Sleep is so good it’ll probably make you want to read The Shining.

Yes cause Dr. Sleep is the story of the son

Yes, otherwise a lot of it won’t make sense. It picks up the story of the kid later in his life. It’s a sequel.

I started reading Dr Sleep first, was absolutely loving it, then stopped and read The Shining first. I kind of wish I hadn’t because Dr Sleep pales in comparison to The Shining. Either way though they’re both great books.

I love my kindle but I understand I can’t read more than one book on it.

I read so much faster with an actual book, it’s weird lol

I’m opposite ? maybe because I don’t really know where I am on my kindle. Lol

I would suggest it, as Doctor Sleep is technically sort of a sequel to The Shining.

I read Doctor Sleep, and I haven’t read the shining, I didn’t know that there was the shining and I still understood everything

I got a feeling that you can read Doctor Sleep without reading The Shining, there is such a long time between the two. I’ve read the Shining and it’s really good (one big change is that in the book the guy uses a mallet, in the movie he had an ax)
