Kids at our elementary school library like the Choose Your Own Nightmare series if they’ve read all the goosebumps. Also Five Nights at Freddie’s.

Dan Poblocki books are my MS students’ favorites! Ghost of Graylock and more. Alex Bell has some pretty creepy ones too, such as Frozen Charlotte. Also try Lois Ruby’s Haunting series with Doll Graveyard and Mary Downing Hahn’s books.

Coraline or The Graveyard Book, The Graveyard diaries, want to do old school style? The House with a Clock in its Walls, which is coming out as a movie in the Fall! Still like vampires? Try My Living Nightmare which is the first in the Cirque du Freak series.
