I fee like that sometimes so I have to finish it eventho it doesn’t knock me out. I feel like I’m betraying the writer

And that makes me feel like I’m being compelled.

No, because that book couldn’t hold my interest enough for me to keep reading. I only read one book at a time. If i start a new one in the middle of another one theres a 90% chance i wont read the rest of it ever again. For me reading is a fun activity. The forced reading already happens in school lol

Actually, the book is kinda interesting, but the one I was jumping to was more intriguing

Ditto everything @Mira said. I only quit if I have no plans of going back to it. Sometimes it isn’t fair because it’s bad timing or my mood but whatever the reason I’m not feeling it.

Depends. If I abandoned it for poor writing, no – some people have the best ideas for a book but write like they’re seven years old… If I just “wasn’t feeling it” then yes… and if I just wasn’t in the mood for it I always try and pick it up again after taking a “break” by reading a different book or two in between.

Every time. I have to finish. Even if it’s terrible and takes me forever

This ☝?☝? I’ve never NOT finished a book. I’ve only quit a series once and it still haunts me.

I do this with every book now. Can’t keep interest in anything.
