I only set a specific number to read through Goodreads. And if I meet it, I up it by 10 for next year.

I don’t really do the GR challenge. I set a goal of 1 book, just so GR keeps track of my stats. I do participate in some readathons throughout the year, which varies each year. I also recently joined a group that does monthly challenges. I feel they’re good for trimming the TBR and reading more diversely.

I’ve only ever been successful topping my rather conservative number of books to read.

And if on a budget, Google reading challenges or reading journals and they have printable pages

I do the goodreads one only. I challenge myself as I want to really make sure I am reading. I set my goals and I don’t stress if I can’t make them.

I set a reading goal for the year on goodreads. This year I also did Mount TBR Reading Challenge, BookRiot Reading Challenge, and PopSugar Reading Challenge. For 2019 I think I’m only doing popsugar and Goodreads. Plan on setting my goodreads Challenge really really high for me, maybe 100.

I do the Good Reads Challenge. I set a goal and if I make it fine and if I don’t fine. I mostly do it to keep track of what I read that year so I can look back when my book club discusses our favorites and least favorites at the end of the year.

I’ve done the Goodreads one for a few years. Next year I’m putting $1 in a jar for every book I finish and then going book shopping with the money at the end of the year ?

Just Goodreads. Although putting a dollar in a jar for the books I read sounds good to me

I’ve done them before, but I don’t have a strict adherence to them. I just enjoy reading.

It a list of 50 prompts for reading, like ‘a ghost story’ or ‘a book with love in the title’. That way you can challenge yourself to try new things.

@Maja great. Thanks for the explanations, Maja. I might try that.

I both use good reads and make my own. Either way I dont rush my reading. I enjoy it. Which makes making my goal more enjoyable
