No, they are not related at all. Odysseus is really the only recurring character.

Thanks guys! I was mildly terrified when I went to pick up and start Circe and it said “the second installment”. Now I can just dive right in!

Each are separate mythologies. But excellant books, SOA is better but Circe is awesome in its own right.
