yes, for me a re read book is being re read because it’s been a LONG time since I’ve read it the first time..but I do want to re read Game of thrones and I read that two years ago I think. In the future my library is going to do Great Expectations for a book discussion and I read that one five years ago, looking forward to that, whenever that is.
Thats the exact question I was asking myself…on goodreads, it doesnt count..but in fact, its a read book. I reread “The tunnel” by Ernesto Sabato, actually heard it, and loved it, like the first time I read it.
Goodreads does now. They introduced that feature last year. Because it wouldn’t count books you had read the previous year. Now you just add another date read to the review.
I think you have to click on the book and get to the review page to do it because on the review page there is an option to put a new date etc. I haven’t done it as I don’t re-read that often.
Haha its a bit childish, i guess..once you read the book, and you enjoy it, it doesnt matter that much if you count it or not ? yet, its fun to have a calendar with the dates when you have read and reread a book. By the way, I have liked “Memoirs of a Geisha” a lot, thinking of rereading that as well. ?
I am thinking about re-reading a few books this year and if I end up doing so they will count especially since a few of them are relatively large books and will likely take a fair bit of my reading time.
Its debatable for me. If its a book i haven’t read in years yeah I’ll count it but if its one one I read every year I wouldn’t. But I hardly do rereads any way as I’m so busy trying to read new adventures.
I always count them. I mark them as a reread, but I count them. I have favorites I like to read again and again, I sometimes think of one I read a long, long time ago (like high school) and I’ll read it again.
I’d say yes.. you still read it during 2018, or whatever year
Yes.
Good good! I’ve been slumped since finishing the 3 a court of books and I think I just need to reread them to get them out of my system! x
I did the same thing when reading those books!
Doing the same!!!! Total mourning after it was Finished!!!!!!
Absolutely, because when you reread a book, you’re going to find a new book that you missed the first time through.
Yes they count
Yes I re-read a lot because don’t have much money to spend
Yes as you are reading them in the year your challenge is set.
Of course!
Yes
Yes!

Why wouldn’t they be? A book is a book no matter how I read it or how many times I read it
Why wouldn’t they?

What’s bookreads?
Ups ? meant goodreads..

Oh, didnt know that, tried to mark this book as reread, but it counted as read. Should try it again, thanks for letting me know. ?

Yeah. I did it with Memoirs of a Geisha. Read it in ’16 and ’17.
Did it, went to the book, clicked “read” and it appeared as a book I have read today ? yess!
Too many people complained about it not counting books I suppose.

I’ve re-read it a number of times

Of course!
I have thousands of books on my TBR list so I don’t reread books.
Yes!
Absolutely! It’s a book you read. It counts.

Ive never included re-read books in the yearly count
Anything I read or write, count’s as a book.
I’m counting it because I’m rereading the Harry Potter series lol
Just,curious why do you,count the,books you,read?
Just for tracking purposes. It’s kinda neat to see what you’ve read by the end of the year.
Absolutely
Yes. A book is a book.
Yes, especially since Goodreads brought in the function that allows you to post multiple read dates.
Yes.
Yes.
Thank God because I’m rereading a series and it is a HUGE series that will take up a large chunk of time
Yes, I have a fave I read about every year or every other 🙂
I don’t count them cause I rarely re-read anything. I usually trade them in or donate them.
I always count them. I mark them as a reread, but I count them. I have favorites I like to read again and again, I sometimes think of one I read a long, long time ago (like high school) and I’ll read it again.
Same
No only new books that I haven’t read
