I use Kindle unlimited but I’m also an author on Kindle unlimited. I don’t make quite as much per book on Kindle unlimited but overall that’s where the lion share of my income comes from. I like it when people use Kindle unlimited cuz that way if they don’t like my book they don’t have to read it all. Admittedly I make a few poop jokes and not everyone is a fan of that. So Kindle unlimited give them an easy out. Kindle unlimited is not my favorite way for people to read my books but it’s a solid number two…?
I don’t, because it doesn’t have enough that I just absolutely want to read to justify paying for it. I just use libraries (I have cards at 4, but only one is really good, and it’s out of state lol) for my Kindle, if I have time to browse at the library, I’ll get print books sometimes, and then I’ve always got a ton of unread print books at home as well. Also, my Kindle library has 100+ unread books (all owned, bought on sale or were free).
@Susie last year, when we visited our friends in Ohio, their local library lets out of state people get library cards for free. Since I only wanted it for my Kindle for ebooks, I don’t have to pay anything, the only time I would is if I was checking out physical books. I live in Alabama, so not possible haha. Some states let you do that as well, but you have to pay a yearly price. New York Public Library is like $25/year I think. I use Overdrive to check out ebooks for all libraries, but the one in Ohio has SO much more than my local libraries do.
Just a note about the “justifying” there’s always the option of canceling. I can subscribe for a month or a few, read only KU books, then cancel and read other books. And also right now is .99 for 3 months. (US)
I do found some great authors on there xx
No. Authors actually get more money when a person buys an ebook or paperback from Amazon.
Yes
Yep! I love it for binge reading. One series, or different authors. But then I read other purchased books.

I have in the past and most likely in the future when time permits. It is a large source of Manga and Light Novels.
