Do any of y’all keep up with the books you have read? If so, how do you do it? My memory isnt what it used to be.

In note books, I’m very OCD like that ???
@Jax I love notebooks
i have my tablet.. the old marble composition style.
its handy to recheck if i have read an author before i invest… etc.
@Jeannie ty
Goodreads
@Brenda ty
Good reads and bookcrossing
@Anne unfamiliar with bookcrossing
Shannon Fountain it is a website where you can get an id number for the book and then release it into the “wild” (leaving in random spots, book boxes or creative spots having something to do with the book).. then you can get updates on the books as others find it and log it in. (People can find a book and just log in as anonymous to leave an entry if they wanted).. I have not been as active on there since moving to Kansas, but, it is a lot of fun… And helps keep your hoarde of books down.
@Anne cool! Thank you
Goodreads, Litsy, a reading diary, a notebook and also post on Facebook what I read.
@Ria a reading diary is probably more down my alley
@Shannon that’s cool, everyone is different and what they read and how they share their books is very personal. I share on a few platforms as I try to share with people who use one thing or the other as some people seem to enjoy my reviews or pics but for personal use I do like my reading diary and notebook just to make a list of what and how many I read per year. ?
Another reason I love my kindle…after I read a book I place it in the cloud..I can check it anytime.
I also use Goodreads
Good reads
We have a spreadsheet that includes where in our library shelving it is located.
@Marianne I’m so jealous
@Shannon when our home was built it had a formal living plus and very large great room just steps away. So my husband converted it to a library since we both love to read and added a fireplace. We figured we’d use that way more than a formal living room.
@Marianne great choice!
@Shannon @Marianne We’re friends. Their Library is beautiful and very cozy.
Goodreads app
Good reads. It’s why I joined
I keep a log.
GoodReads
I keep a journal on my goal is to read 2 books a month
Goodreads
I log what I have read, want to read and own in Goodreads
I use book buddy
What is that?
It’s an app that keeps your library organized and can edit stuff like interest level, reading status, etc
@Jasmine interesting thank you
Goodreads
pinterest
Of course. I keep a journal of what I’ve read by author. Doesn’t everyone? I noticed the other answers – my reading pre-dates such conveniences as Goodreads & pinterest. Just have always kept a written journal.
notebooks. ones i own and ones i want.
Goodreads and reading journal ?
I keep track through bullet journaling.
I do that, I share on groups, Litsy, Goodreads etc but also for personal friends who read I share to my profile too. I have different people dotted about on different platforms so to share reviews and maybe help others to discover a new author or book I post on a few things as its nice to share. ?
Goodreads
Goodreads
I keep a list on my phone of title, author date and I start and finish.
Plus a written list in a notebook. In case of phone failure. It has helped alot.
Oh by look that reminds me a lot of the old version of Shelfari, I loved the layout but apparently it ceased to exist after merging with Goodreads. Is that a free or subscription / payment app?
http://goodreads.com/
Goodreads
@Mari I just tried adding it to my pad but it’s so old it’s not compatible. ??
I log everything I read onto a notebook. I also use goodreads occasionally.
@Ria oh bummer…it is a great app.
Goodreads and a notebook for quotes and quick plot summaries ?
I use Goodreads app and have another app called Libib I use to keep track of books I get from the library as well as ones I sell back to the bookstore
I write them down in journal. I’ve been keeping it since 2010.
I started a journal a few years ago. Title. Author. Total pages. Any passages or quotes that impressed me. Just added Goodreads.
For me it’s more nostalgia. If I’m trying to think of a book to read of a certain genre, often a title of a book from a few years ago will just pop into my head
I’ve been keeping a book journal since 1993.
Bullet journal
I make a list of them in a notebook and on a document on my computer. I also put the date when I started it and when I got to the end. I also record the author’s name.
Goodreads
I have a notebook just for my to be read and one for the ones I’ve finished
GoodReads and wish lists on the library website
Good Reads
Goodreads
I have a book journal for ones I have read and a green notebook for ones I want to read.
That’s a great idea.
You know something no one has noticed yet, this whole convo has revolved not even AROUND books per se or what we are reading etc but HOW we all catalogue our books to read, books we have read, books we wish to read or stuff on our TBRs how cool is that? That we are actually even discussing ways to catalogue our reading obsessions. ?
Only all realize that we are nerdy book nerds! I mean, really! LOL*We all realize????????
I LOVE IT
@Laura oh I am so happy to be one. ?
Me! Tune@Ria
I have a notebook in which I write them down and I use goodreads
When I was younger I used to write the titles and authors in a notebook. Now I use Goodreads. I know how you feel about memory. I’ll read books but won’t remember them later. Sometimes I would get half way through a book to realize i read it already. Other times I don’t remember the story line of a book I read
@Jane my problems exactly…nice to know I’m not the only one
I use Goodreads. You can research and record the books you want to read and the books you’ve read. I’ve used it for years – it is the best.
I have a photographic memory, so I flip through the book and read passages
Lucky dog!
Book journal and goodreads
I tend to remember without writing the titles down. It doesn’t necessarily mean I remember the content lol
I use goodreads.
I actually downloaded the My Library app last night. It seems really great. You can scan the isbn number on the books and all the info pops up. And you can save your library to Google drive or to excel.
I have a lot of antique or just pure vintage that predates the era of ISBN numbers. Could you manually add if need be?
@Ria yes! I’m so excited the more I use it. You can add notes and stuff too. And if its in a series, and if so what volume/number in the series.
@Ria yes you can add them by name too using the manual Amazon/goodreads/Google search.
Careful when linking goodreads to my library. I now have double the entry’s and my wishlist mixed in my library. Grr
Oh this sounds lethal to me. I salivate when I hear of some bookish new “thing” I have to look into this. ?
@Karl in the My Library App? I haven’t seen any link for Amazon good reads etc. Didnt know that was a thing!
You can scan the titles on Goodreads as well. Just FYI
@Beth I’m sorry I think that is my bad. I use the my library book catalog.
Might be a different app.
I write in a notebook and also keep track on goodreads
Goodreads. But I haven’t been updating it at all this year. Now I use it to look at the synopsis and reviews.
Goodreads and a physical notebook (since 1986) with the date I finished the book. One of the better decisions I made in my 20s 😉
@Tim wish I had started something like that in my teens or 20s.. or even 30s
My sister does that she had an accident many years ago and she had a nasty bump on the head and sometimes suffers with poor memory so she writes the date she read a book on a blank page at the start of a book for quick reference. ?
