Yes, I loved it, and wish I still had mine.
My cousins did. Clearly remember sitting in the floor in their den (linoleum floor, knotty pine walls) and poring over the volumes. Bliss!
Yes I had Childcraft! I can’t believe you still have them. Good for you!
I read them from the library
I had a subscription at times, but I also remember reading them at the Doctor/Dentist office.
Omg, yes we had childcraft, but my mind confused it with the magazine, was it Highlife?
Highlights, from right here in Columbus, Ohio. Those were great.
I loved going to the dr.’s just to read Highlights v
@Denise same here. I thought of the magazine. I now remember Child Craft.
I still have ours. Lovely illustrations. I just had my first grandson and I’m sure we’ll be reading from them.
I did- great memories of those books!
Yes. We have from my children from about 1978!
I had a magazine called Jack and Jill. I enjoyed it. My daughters had Child Craft.
Confused, I was! I was thinking of Highlights magazine. I now remember the books
My favorite nursery rhyme book was Childcraft. My mother sold Childcraft when my older brothers were little, mainly so she could get the books for them. I still remember the beautiful illustrations, but I don’t have the book.
I did, and I’m looking to replace them.
Loved those books still have 1-3.
I had no idea how much they impacted my view of the world until I finally got to visit Europe. My inner little girl was giddy with excitement when I saw in person some of the things that I had learned about in those books. I loved it the first time that I realized that there was a set of the books on the set of the Bravo Clubhouse on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live.
My parents said they couldn’t afford it. My neighbors had a set and they let me read them. I loved them.
I did but donated them several years ago. I hope they are still around and being passed around!
I’m 70 and still have mine, somewhere….too many good memories to part with them. Some have crayon drawings in them.
I bought Childcraft for my children….probably around 1988. I really didn’t use it as much as I thought I would.
Loved them.
I still have them. In a box somewhere like all my other books right now. They must be 50 years old.
Mine are about 50 years old also. Are they worth anything besides sentiment?
Doubt it. They’re not in pristine shape. Pretty well used.?
I still use them with my kindergarten class!
the orange 1948 set. I found a replacement set on eBay.
Still get a warm feeling in my heart when I open one of those volumes.
Me too!
I loved reading our Childcraft books! Wish I could remember what happened to them. (We were military, so my parents may have had to leave them behind during one of our moves.)
