Went a couple years without a public Library in me life because my illness got the better of me, and so feel rather excited its only been 2 weeks since Id been. Felt a bit deflated in my excitement for a moment, lol.

@Mansoor it is and the best thing in our main library is that you can find there so many different book in different languages. Of course the main languages of the world like english, spanish, german, french, italian, portuguese, russian but also many others. Also our own languages which are in here official languages. Maybe because in my hometown we have peoples around the world who lives in here.

I’m lucky enough to live in two countries (Australia and the United States) and travel the world. Prior to switching almost exclusively to digital books I hadn’t used a library in years and I spent a truly shocking amount of money on books. I just wasn’t in one country long enough to go in person check out read and return. Now I use Sydney, And Tulsa Library systems continuously and although I rarely walk into one I’m utilizing my libraries daily.

I’m in the USA now in Tulsa, off to Dallas Friday, Sydney Sunday, won’t be back to either USA house for 3 full months. This is my life. It’s just not a relaxed laid back life but I still need to read every single day to stay sane. I LOVE digital books!
I’ve donated and gifted most of my once massive libraries of paper books at this point. The little girl who always needs the reassurance and comfort of lots of books who lives inside me was a bit freaked out but it’s the story I need to escape into not the paper pages!

2 years ago the last winner 2016 the last winner sanity I visited Washington DC first place I went to was the Congressional Library my biggest thrill was getting a library card that allowed me to check books out of the Library of Congress. I felt so honored holding on to that card it is treasured I didn’t get to check out a book cuz I was leaving town but I was allowed to enter to the bookcases I look down into where they check out the books I sat there and read 4 hours from one precious book to another and I cried when I left because it was not enough. When I entered the Thomas Jefferson Library room I was so overwhelmed with emotion I almost fainted Thomas Jefferson I hear all mine since I was a child. I treasure those memories

I did a lot of driving this last weekend and wanted an audio book—was so easy to download to my phone and plug in and go as I was setting off on my journey!

Had to wait a week for my current book: Craig Johnson’s latest Longmire book: Depth of Winter. Nearly half way through and I haven’t figured the title out yet, seeing as how they are in Mexico in the summer and he keeps talking about how hot it is.

@Mansoor Really no good reason we have these free little libraries in our community that everyone donates books to, there are about 4 of them in our neighborhood so I usually get a book from there and donate a book. Plus we have a bunch of bookstores that have new and used books and I often shop in the used section. I also buy books in garage sales as well. Right now I probably have at least 100 books to read lol. I do love libraries however I just like having a collection of my own I guess.
I felt you think the right way to have books available anytime 🙂

2011 my 5th year in college when I cross enrolled to another college because my schedule won’t fit. They were failed subjects in my main school and I had to apply for a library card just to borrow a book that my harda** instructor wanted us to get because all the questions to his exams were there. As in which ones I got from the library? They were mainly home improvement and renovation books as we have a load of work to do on the house and I wanted inspiration. I was looking for a book on Vincent Van Gogh that is basically his letters to his brother, called My Life and Love are One, as a companion to Irving Stone’s Lust for Life, which I’m currently enjoying. It’s out of print though and they didn’t have it. And I got a couple of Neil Gaiman comic books, which isn’t something I’d normally read but thought they might be fun to try. The one I read was The Books of Magic and I also got the first in The Sandman series.
