I thought about giving it a try…..but it had capitalism in its subtitle….and I’m just a kid about to graduate from high school who didn’t have economics???……would I be able to read it
Of course you can. Naomi wrote it for the global public, in a simple style. I think if you can read it and understand all the concepts, you might be years ahead of your colleagues. Bon courage.
Capitalism means you’re free to buy what you want, and free to sell what you want. No one loses, why ? Because it is regulated by an invisible hand, which is the interest of each one. Buyer and seller.
Ok ? When u go to a market you buy things u want, by the price that suits u most. And the seller also, they provide things you want, by price they want. If this interests are the same, everyone is happy.
These books were recommended by Bill Gates – The Quest: Energy, Security, and the Remaking of the Modern World, by Daniel Yergin Sustainable Energy—without the Hot Air, by David J.C. MacKay Unlocking Energy Innovation, by Richard K. Lester and David M. Hart World on the Edge: How to Prevent Environmental and Economic Collapse, by Lester R. Brown Global Warming: The Complete Briefing, by John Houghton Beyond Smoke and Mirrors: Climate Change and Energy in the 21st Century, by Burton Richter Hot, Flat, and Crowded: Why We Need a Green Revolution—and How it Can Renew America, by Thomas Friedman Reinventing Fire: Bold Business Solutions for the New Energy Era, by Amory B. Lovins and Rocky Mountain Institute
Learning to Die in the Anthropocene – Reflections on the End of Civilization by Roy Scranton – a surprisingly easy read on a very tough subject. If reality and truth, no mAtter how bleak can ever be comforting, this book does it.
The “Science in the Capitol” series by Kim Stanley Robinson is climate-change related science fiction. That said, I loved these books and I do not read sci fi at all. Scenes from them have stayed with me like few others.
Not read them but this list was complied by Bill Gates if i remember correctly, took these screenshots from another post on here.

But I don’t understand much capitalism ?
Capitalism is pretty easy to understand, actually. Adam Smith is easy to read too. It (C) was created for small economies, not global markets…
