The Familiars by Stacy Halls is a novel about the 1612 English witch trials. It was a good read.

Have you read the Physick Book of Deliverance Dane by Katherine Howe? It is set alternately in the present and during the Salem witch trials. Another good one.

The Heretic’s Daughter is good, and the author is a descendant of Martha Carrier, one of the first women accused and hanged during the trials.

I apologize. I now see that you were asking for books based on witch trials and I gave you mostly nonfiction. Oops

The witchcraft of Salem village by Shirley Jackson started my interest.

Adriana Mather has two books out based on the trails but added a modern twist. She’s the descendant of Cotton Mather who started the Salem witch trials, she has books and letters that date back to then as well as other artifacts from her family members who were on the titanic and from the first thanksgiving. Very interesting ?

The witchfinders sister, can’t remember the author, although I didn’t really enjoy it as I found it a bit of a non event. Depends how much pace or action you are after.
