I had kind of forgotten it, because it’s been awhile since I read it. But I just bought a 50th Anniversary edition of The Outsiders. I’m pretty sure, if I was in a slump, that would get me out of it. I love that book so much, and it’s a short read.
@Claire there is a movie version called “the complete novel”. It’s like a director’s cut. My daughter questioned mine that we watched. So I checked, found out the difference, and went out and bought it. It’s a favorite.
@Belén, oh dear. I normally avoid trying to read for a while. I still go out and buy them, I’ll maybe even read a magazine. I find it works for me to just not think about it and before long I’ve got my nose buried back in a book.
Twilight or Harry potter are my go to when I’m in a slump
For some reason, I go to The Shining when I hit a slump & I’m highly concerned as to what that says about me lol
YA contemporary is a good slump buster I find. Theybtend to be quick and fluffy.
Hp, vampire diaries, a good thriller/mystery helps me
The Rosie Project, Anne of Green Gables, At Home in Mitford, depends on kinds of books you enjoy, and how old you are. My reading evolved as I aged.
Start with fast paced easy books

I just bought it for my youngest son. He watched the movie instead of reading it. Lol but now I have a copy for my bookshelves… ?

The Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews or Jane Yellowrock series by Faith Hunter for me

I always read The Princess Bride when I hit a slump. Romance, adventure, Pirates… plus it’s quick and fun.
Anything by Neil Gaiman, start with Neverwhere.
I got out of mine with Burial Rites by Hannah Kent. Pretty dark, but I couldnt put the damn thing down!
Any book by Tana French
The Night Circus, Erin Morgenstern.
Or The Girl With All the Gifts.
Harry Potter always gets me out of my slump
