excellent book, excellent series well worth the read.
Read it on holiday one year when I first got my kindle….hadn’t realised how big it was until I saw it in a shop!…loved it…couldn’t put it down and was up until 3am to finish it

I started it as an audio book but the elibrary took it back before I finished. It’s never in my physical library or online. Lucky you. Love Ken Follet!

I nevwr knew it was a book. Alwaus wanted to see the show for it.
I watched that and his “World Without End” on STARZ and they were SO good! Every time I see one of them in a bookstore I’m tempted to buy them but I always stop myself for this that or other. Let me know how you enjoy
The 20th Century trilogy was awesome. Couldn’t put them down !

I didn’t like it. The characters were rigidly one dimensional and I recall a lot of rape. It was a LONG time ago but that’s what I recall.
I really wanted to like that book it felt very repetitive. Plus, as Sonie said, lots of rape. I despised the villain too. He was worse than most villains I have encountered!
