What type of fantasy? Supernatural? Something like Game of Thrones? Do you like science fiction? Or any romance, or sexual content? Or no sexual content and strictly fantasy or fiction?
I have all kinds of fantasy books to recommend, but I would need to know more about your preferences ? hope that makes sense.

If you want to try an indie author, I have the first of my fantasy adventure trilogy available. It’s about Viviana, a lord’s daughter, with the ability to heal and manipulate fire. She has to figure out how to control her ever-growing powers before she hurts or even kills someone she loves. As civil war lingers in the air, she must travel from her land to seek help and find out what she truly is. https://bit.ly/ThornlessRoseFireBlush

I scrolled through the other recommendations (I was going to suggest the Liveship chronicles, but I saw someone else had suggested it so I’ll just second Robin Hobb). I didn’t see anything by Dennis McKiernan listed–excellent fantasy writer if you enjoy Eddings or Tolkien-type fantasy adventure.

“The Fairy Godmother” by Mercedes Lackey is one of my favorite books. “The Elenium” series by David Eddings starting with “The Diamond Throne” is amazing (and hilarious). David Eddings is great at fantasy world building.

Robin

Did you read Eddings’ ‘The Redemption of Athalus?’

0
Megan

@Robin No, I haven’t gotten to it yet. Is it comparable to his other works (in the same genre)?

0
Robin

@Megan I think so–the book is a long one, it’s a full saga all in one and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Athalaus is more of an anti-hero, at least through the beginning of the book so it’s not the same type of scenario as Belgariad or the others with a destined or prophesied leader type of story.

0
Tiffany

@Megan going to try all these. I’ve ran out of books to read ?

1
Tara

My favorite fantasy authors are Terry Goodkind, Robin Hobb, and Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman (when co-authoring).
