Wintersong is a not a H/P retelling, its more of a Labyrinth based, when asked if it was inspired by it, author replied: “However, I suppose the biggest difference is the fact that my characters are not Jim Henson’s characters” It’s good either way!
Ooh ooh ooh! My favourite is Goddess of Spring by PC Cast! It’s part of her Goddess Summoning series. More adult than young adult, but my favourite take on the myth by far! ❤️❤️❤️
Have you tried p.c. cast she does a goodess summoning series their brilliant .. goodess of spring is Hades .. all of them are great . Hope that helps xx
The Kingmaker Chronicles by Amanda Bouchet(?) Aren’t about them but they are there, especially later on. The author does a cool little twist with them 🙂
I love the Kingmaker Chronicles by Amanda Bouchet. It’s not about them, but the twists and how she plays on mythology was fantastic! It’s one of my fav series.
Oooooh Laura Thalassa’s series “The Unearlthy” is 100% what you are looking for. I don’t want to spoil it but check it out, I promise you’ll love it! I did! And if you like that you should read her Bargainer series after, that’s my favorite!!
I found this free ebook once called “springtime for hades.” Its obviously someones first self-publish, so theres quite a bit to be desired. But I still read it from time to time because I think the idea is cute.
I wrote a book about Greek gods for my nephew. It isn’t published. Sorry. It was just for him, but your question reminded me of his favorite scene. Our hero (Kevin) is in the Underworld, and he is trying to escape. Persephone begs him to take her with him. So he has her by the arm and is dragging her behind him as he runs down one corridor after another. Finally he makes a wish that Ares (who has been helping him) was there to assist. Ares appears instantly. He’s angry at being called because he is now also stuck there. Kevin explains that Persephone wants to leave, but she’s trapped. He can’t take her and also the dagger he has come for. Ares leans to the side, takes a look around Kevin and says, “That’s not Persephone.” When Kevin looks, he has a monster by the arm. My nephew laughed and laughed.
@Gabrielle All day after reading it my nephew (10 at the time) kept pretending to be Ares. He’d lean to the side as if looking around Kevin and say, “That’s not Persephone.” LOL
Read the Gods and Monsters series by @Mila. It isnt just about Hades and Persephone but they both appear in the books. Persephone less so than Hades, but they are great reads. She has 3 books out with the 4th coming out in April.
You’ve probably read it but Wintersong by S Jae-Jones or the Goddess Test by Amiee Carter
@Bramanda omg i never knew wintersong is a retelling. Really?! ?
@Bramanda Definitely The Goddess Test! I loved that series.

I thought it still had the same feel. I think it’s a little H/P, Labyrinth, and Beauty and the Beast all mixed together
