Some spoilers here because it explains some of the later systems that you don’t really learn about until the second or third book. So you could skip everything except the section on Allomancy.
But if you really want to know everything:

If you’re only 15 pages in you should probably give it a little more time. Most writers won’t use the first 15 pages of a book to explain every intricacy of their magic system. That would be some boring ass stuff.

Yeah, 15 pages isn’t really enough. That’s part of the fun of the book – learning the magic system along with Vin. 🙂
