Watership Down by Richard Adams is technically set in Britain
I think I read this many years ago. Will have to take another look. Thanks!
It’s by far one of the most beautiful books I’ve ever read. If you’re alright with Scottish faerie tales as well, Ash by Malinda Lo is so beautifully written that sometimes I cry from how poetic and cinematic the book feels.
I’ve just published a children’s book based upon my work with the ambulance service, “Paramedic Chris” by Tim Parsons:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/1787196496/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1524344435&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=paramedic+chris&dpPl=1&dpID=51bTu46O05L

@Annette I’ve always had an interest in the UK, as far back as I can remember. I’ve traveled there once and would love to go again. I kinda wish I was from there! ?
For easy, fun reads try Carole Matthews, Millie Johnson & Debbie Johnson .. I suppose they would technically be chick-lit but they are all really good authors who can tell a cracking story ! All set in the UK – Carole bases hers around the Milton Keynes area, Millie sets hers in the North and Debbie’s are set in and around Dorset.
