Keiron Cosgrave – Series starts with Promises Promises. Brilliant stories with the focus on the antagonists.
I agree with Silvie, the DCI Bennett series of seven books (so far) by Malcolm Hollingdrake is an excellent read

Faith Martin is a huge favourite of mine with her DI Hillary Green series, there are 17 books altogether in the series.

The Inspector Pekkala series by Sam Eastland. Super wonderful reading and flat out addictive. Make certain you read them in order. The author, (Paul Watkins) is an American educated at Eton, Oxford and Yale universities, so it’s surprising that he is even literate. 🙂
