When you say crime fiction with a serial killer in it, my mind automatically goes to James Patterson’s Women’s Murder Club Series. Start with 1st To Die. That’s where the series begins.

The Bowers Files series by Steven James. First one is called Opening Moves.
Just read Mermaids Singining recently. Serial killer. Kind of drawn out but it kept me wanting to find out who the killer was

JD Robb. Only writes about one detective just a wee bit in the future. Has 20 odd in the series and you don’t have to start at number one.

If you’re up for an absolute mind blowing true story check out The Stranger Beside Me by Ann Rule it’s her real life story of how she worked right next to Ted Bundy and their relationship and how she was working with the investigators it’s absolutely insane!

The shining girls by Lauren beaks. It’s about a time traveling serial killer. Not my favorite, but murder mysteries usually aren’t. My friend on the other hand, who likes thriller type stuff thought it was excellent

The Dresden Files, the first book is called Storm Front. It’s sci-fi and crime fighting, the main character is a wizard who helps the Chicago PD. It’s high impact all the time, keeps me on my toes.

JD Robb’s In Death series is good. Basically she is street cop from the future. Nora Roberts is actually the real author but I honestly like JD Robb’s books better. Lol
