Shattered seas trilogy by joe Abercrombie. Half a King https://g.co/kgs/4rMkRR
Thanx ? is “the blade itself” a part of that trilogy or is that a separate one ?
@Liam It’s separate.
The First Law is in a different universe. It’s comprised of “The Blade itself”, “Before They Are Hanged”,”The Last Argument Of Kings”, “Best Served Cold”, “The Heroes”, “Red Country”, and “Sharp Ends”. They are adult-works and the content reflects that.
The Shattered Sea is a trilogy Joe Abercrombie wrote for a YA audience – though readers who typically don’t read particularly violent books will still find it can be dark. It is viking centric as Matt suggested.
The Draugr Saga by Hugh Long. Easy read and good story.
Gallow by Nathan Hawke amazing viking trilogy
My suggestion would be to read the comic series NORTHLANDERS written by Brian Wood and illustrated by different artists for different story arcs. They feature stories from the entire span of the Viking Age and from all across Europe. Really very good. Printed by DC under their Vertigo imprint.
The Raven trilogy by Giles Kristian book one is blood eye. Or the last kingdom novels
Bernard cornwell.the saga of uhtred
Half a King by Joe Ambercrombie
The Wolf by Leo Carew was decent
Bernard Cornwall’s Saxon series involves Vikings, lots and lots of them. It’s a long series though.
Also, Guy Gavriel Kay’s The Last Light of the Sun is set in a Viking type setting it’s one of my favorite of his books. It’s a stand alone novel.
These are also enjoyable
The gospel of Loki
Wolfskin by Juliet Marillier
Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young!
Bernard Cornell’s series is the best. It’s got Vikings all over the place.
