Any of the Karen Pirie series as she is boss of Historical Crime Unit (HCU). I am just finishing the 4th in the series and it is great as have been the previous 3.
Thank you, I’m reading Broken Ground at the moment. That’s why I’m so interested in the cold cases.

Jussi Adler Ohlson’s Department Q books. Dept Q is solely set up to investigate cold cases
The earlier Jussi Adler Ohlsons books are better and it would be better to read them in order.
I’d recommend Red is the Colour too. A great read.
