Hmm well for adventure, check out works by Matthew Reilly (Scarecrow series and Jack West Jr. Series). For detective fiction I’d recommend Jack Reacher series by Lee Child or King and Maxwell series by David Baldacci. If you wanna go the urban fantasy route then Sandman Slim series by Richard Kadrey

The alphabet series by Sue Grafton…the number series by Janet Evanovich

The Lily Bard series by Charlaine Harris is good and really easy to read (I think they would be classified as a cozy​ mystery). If you like romance, any series by Linda Lael Miller is easy to read.

I’m partial to Maggie Steifvater’s The Raven Cycle (only 4 books) and Jonathan Stroud’s Lockwood & Co, which the 5th book is coming out in about a week. Just a head’s up these are YA series dealing with the paranormal.
