Can anyone recommend a book that makes you lol?

Can anyone recommend a book that makes you lol? For some reason, the books I’ve read lately, although they’re great stories, have been very sad/depressing

I just added this on Goodreads but it says it was published in 2017? I thought this book has been around for years? It says it a trilogy and the one I added was the first. Did I add the right book?

It might be an updated edition

The Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. They go in a row but you can pick anyone and get the gist of who is who. The first one is a little graphic but the rest are hysterical.

Thank you for this comment! I had never tried the others after the first, but this helped me!

@Dorothy I think she had to set up Lula’s arrival. But it was hard. The rest are not that. Stephanie still gets into messes with Lula but they all get out of it!

Furiously Happy by Jenny Lawson is the one I’ve read. I’ve heard good things about another of hers, Let’s Pretend This Never Happened. A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson and Sh*t My Dad Says by Justin Halpern also made me laugh.

Check out Jen Mann’s anthologies, People I Want to Punch in the Throat series, Carrie Fisher’s, The Princess Diarist, Wishful Drinking and Lauren Graham’s Talking as Fast as I Can. These are even funnier in audiobook. And, agreed, The Rosie Project is a fun read

Cat’s Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut; Barchester Towers and The Warden by Anthony Trollope … esp. The Warden; Jesus’ Son by Denis Johnson (the characters may be a little hard to take but he’s a superb writer with some screamingly funny episodes) Also, The Wind in the Willows, Alice in Wonderland, and poetry by Lewis Carroll, John Betjeman, Ogden Nash and Judith Viorst ~
