Jim Dale. He does the Harry Potter audiobooks that we can get here in the states…UK gets the lovely Stephen Fry version, and I’m insanely jealous…and the narration for the show Pushing Daisies, and I absolutely cannot stand listening to him.
@Alli I haven’t heard the Stephen Fry version, but I just love him in general, so if I was still into Harry Potter, I’d probably enjoy that version. I just can’t deal with Jim Dale, his female voices are so whiny…
@Alli He’s unfortunately one of them, but I got the Night Circus audiobook from the library, so I’m trying to force myself through it. Not easy, despite the actual book being one of my favorites…
I didn’t care for it at first- then read some reviews that made me read it from a whole different perspective. I tried it again, and loved it. My daughter has a camp she works at in the summer, and to her, it gave her the same magic feeling that the camp does. I think it depends on life experiences sometimes.
I’d give it another read if I hadn’t given it away :/ Maybe I wasn’t in the right frame of mind to read it, I don’t know. I wanted to like it, mostly based on the beauty of the cover ?
Lol oh I totally understand that! I read it two years ago for one of those boom challenges and I picked it for the “read a book based off the cover” category
I found it was a little slow in places, and it took a while for me to get the gist of what arc the story was taking, but I enjoyed it, and I thought it was worth pushing through.
Wow… funny how a book can grab us all so differently right! Thank you so much everyone for the input? i will give it a go and jot a little note about whether i like it or not
I loved it!
Loved it. It’s a somber piece I think. Love it
One of my favorites!
Not my thing. I wouldn’t recommend the audiobook, I didn’t much like the narrator. But I hope you enjoy it.
Oh that stinks! Who was the narrator? I can totally see how the wrong type of narrator can ruin a book
I don’t know, but he sounded like an older gentleman so to hear him voice a young girl and a young boy was… weird.
Yeah that would be weird. Bummer!
@Caroline that’s how I feel for the HP audiobooks ?
Did not know that. I’ll avoid those.
@Caroline one was an older British guy. His voice is cool and all but I can’t get over an older man reading a 12 yr old part ?
Stephen Fry voiced some of them, I know that.

Yeah I tried both versions and just couldn’t do it ?

@Christle I know what you mean! Certain narrators just grate on my nerves sometimes ?
@Alli He’s unfortunately one of them, but I got the Night Circus audiobook from the library, so I’m trying to force myself through it. Not easy, despite the actual book being one of my favorites…
love
I didn’t like it. Some lovely description but it otherwise just didn’t grab me.
One of my favourite books of all time.
great book, really unique and cool.
Excellent

My favorite book.
I loved it;)
I enjoyed It.
I can’t remember anything about it. One of the most lackluster, boring books I ever read. Sorry, that’s just a personal opinion lol.
There’s no need to apologize. That’s what great about people and books. We’re all so different and experience things differently
I’d give it another read if I hadn’t given it away :/

Book challenge also works lol
Loved It! I found it spell-binding and have read it at least twice.
Loved it! It’s one of my go to rereads.
Im finding it interesting, reading it on my tablet when I get chances without my son awake
I LOVED it! (It’s a slower-paced read for sure though—so be in the mood for that❤️❤️)
I’ve had a really hard time getting through it.
I loved this book
loved it and so did everyone at the Book Club I go to.
Great idea, poorly executed.
Really really liked it!
LOVED it!
I LOVE IT!
Oh it’s good
Loved it!
It’s good. I’m just shy of halfway though it myself, and I’m enjoying every minute of it.
I found it was a little slow in places, and it took a while for me to get the gist of what arc the story was taking, but I enjoyed it, and I thought it was worth pushing through.
It was beautiful!?
One of my faves!
LOVED IT! One of my favorites! Hope you love it as well!
I love this book. Enjoy!
It is on my TBR list.

I could not get into it at all
But I hope you enjoy it ☺
It’s wonderful!
It’s in my top 10 favorites. I absolutely love this book!
Not a lot happened but the imagery was beautiful. I really really enjoyed it.
Loved it
Gorgeous!
This book is in my top 5 ?
I’ve been wanting to buy it for a while. But i wonder how much it talks about circus animals.
Slight spoiler, the only animals I’ve run across so far are the wooden ones on the carousel. Not sure there ARE animals in the story.
Thanks. A lot.
I’m only halfway though.
Very good.
Have this..haven’t read it yet. Heard it’s a great book.
Boring. I’ve been reading it for almost 3 years. Normally I can finish a 200 page book in a day. I’ve finally given up on the book.
