I was going to suggest that! By far the craziest plot twist I ever read. The author is Sarah Pinborough.

For psychological thrillers I’ve found anything by Sharon Bolton, C L Taylor, Camilla Grebe, S K Tremayne and Harlan Coben unputdownable. Also Camilla Lackberg’s Patrik Hedstrom & Erica Falck series and Kristine Ohlsson’s Fredrika Bergman & Alex Recht series – both Swedish authors, so pretty dark books and some pretty nasty crimes.

I second I Let You Go by Claire Mackintosh and the Karen Slaughter books, Black Eyed Susans by Julia Heaberlin, Belinda Bauer books and the Tracy Crosswhite series by Robert Dugoni (even when I thought I figured out the twists, there would be another that would blindsided me) and Before I Go to Sleep by SJ Watson.
