This may be completely out of range but ….I never hear Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series mentioned. And at least in all the early ones there’s some dark crazy. Along with some really quirky funny bits. Haven’t liked the latest ones as well but all the early ones were great entertaining reads.
