You’ve probably already read it but I’m loving the Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard. Also the Madison Avery series by Kim Harrison is pretty good too but i love Kim Harrison so…
Not my usual read, but I loved Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor and Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah Maas. Bonus: both are the first books in a series and the authors have more books to enjoy if you like their style.
I’m loving the A Study in Charlotte series. It’s a three book series about the grandchildren of Sherlock and Holmes. These are dark and gritty and I just love them. Charlotte Holmes is a tortured soul and adds a sharp opposite to Jamie Watson who just knows she is someone he needs in his life even as she self destructs. Also love anything by Laini Taylor and Leigh Bardugo.
The Disturbed Girls Dictionary by NoNique Ramos, Female of the Species by Mindy McGinnis, One of Us is Lying, What We Saw by Aaron Hartzler, Orbiting Jupiter by Gary Schmidt. I’m a high school reading specialist, so I could literally go on forever ?
The Alchemyst series? Or go retro with Mary Stewart. She wrote lots of short novels about single women in interesting places and often added a touch of suspense, romance, and the uncanny. Her books are on sale for about $5 at daedalusbooks. She also did a very popular series about Merlin, starting with The Crystal Cave.
What to say next by Julie Buxbaum, Allie and Bea by Catherine Ryan Hyde, Faithful by Alice Hoffman, The you I’ve never known by Ellen Hopkins, most recent titles by Nicola Yoon, Gayle Forman, Matthew Quick, John Green, Jenny Han, and Jennifer Niven
