Quite possibly the worst book I ever read. I completely agree with these reviews from Amazon:

“love witchy books, Harry Potter, the Sookie Stackhouse mysteries. Historical fiction is fun, too. The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova was surprising and entertaining. I am fascinated with Oxford, UK, the Bodleian, the Ashmolean, medieval castles… I wanted to like this book… it’s right in my wheel-house. I don’t want to be mean, but it was just awful. I almost never put down a book before finishing it. I feel committed once I’ve begun. I just simply could not go on with this one.”

“Thrilled to have it end and am glad to report it was utterly stupid to the finish.”

I did manage to finish it but only because it was like viewing a train wreck—horrifying, but I couldn’t look away from the carnage.

Personally, I enjoyed it. It was a bit hard to get into at first, but I really loved it by the end.

I have more in boxes. Result of a tolerant hubby and a store that has BINS of books for only 50 cents.

It’s called Bullmoose. It’s a local chain, in Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. The books are used ones. I’ve found some amazing books.

Most are in great condition. And a lot are beautiful hard covers. It’s given me a chance to find books I might not have normally read.

20 books? I can’t read more than 3 books at one time. I prefer to read one at a time.

If you read Lord of the Rings first, you will be disappointed by most other books for the rest of your life.

I love Harry Potter. But I love Lord of the Rings (and I’m including The Hobbit) more.
