Too many to mention , depends on the style of writing and the crimes they write, and how I am feeling at the time.

For consistently enjoyable my top three are Lawrence Block, Elmore Leonard, and James Ellroy. Of the three I think Block is the best writer because of his ability to write books that are very different from each other.

No such thing. It’s all subjective and very much down to personal taste. Besides who can read them all?!! ?

Leen

Agree. But I do have favorites.

1
Janet

As do I. But it’s an impossible question to answer. All anyone can do is list their favourite books, authors, etc. And there are a gazillion tastes out there. The beauty is in choices. ?

Anne

Stuart McBride. Mo Hayder. Jeffrey Deaver. Not necessarily in that order though

A difficult choice. Agatha Christie, Dorothy L Sayers and Ngaio Marsh from the 1930s to 1980s, more recently Michael Connelly, Karen Slaughter, Tess Geritsen, James Carol and Richard Montana Montinari from modern times.
