Have you read the Red Rising Series by Pierce Brown? It is like an adult version of Hungers Games…in Space. I loved Hunger Games …not my usual read, but got me to into dystopian…
Anyway, Red Rising is a triology…BUT, the first book in the next trilogy comes out next month…continuing the story.

Not sure if this will be a trilogy, but amazing series so far. The Farseer by Robyn Hobb trilogy is just as good. And Bernard Cornwell has a Merlin trilogy, one of my favorites he’s an amazing story teller.

I loved this book. I bought it years ago. Supposedly he had all three books written so wouldn’t have to wait very long for books 2 and 3 to come out. Still waiting for the third book. the Farseer trilogy is great! There are more series connected to it.

Night Angel, by Brent Weeks.

The Lord of The Rings is a far superior tale, but it is not a trilogy. It is one story that was forced into three volumes due to cost (namely, post war paper shortage). Tolkien adamantly asserted from its inception to his death that it is one work split into volumes, and not a trilogy.. His original publisher even asserted that he (Tolkien) mused that it was more a duology, with The Silmarillion acting as a prologue. Otherwise it would be the clear choice.

I liked the first book, but omg I had the hardest time with the last two, I barely made it through the last book. I wanted to like them so much. I liked the movies better though. I don’t know why I struggled with them so much.

Katie

I’m kinda the same. I started the second book and it’s taking me so long to even just sit down and read it. I love the movies too

2

Messed up in what kind of way?

0
Suzanne

All sorts of ways honestly. But the reason I thought it would never be adapted was because there are flashbacks to when the main character was a teen. He and his friend casually watch child and snuff porn, basically all the nastiness the internet has to offer. It’s dystopian so I think it’s trying to illustrate how desensitized everyone has become.
