Both are intense, but for me East of Eden was a more enjoyable read. “Atlas…” is more a book to read a chapter at a time and think about it for a day before moving on.
I so loved East of Eden. Atlas Shrugged is a very heavy read. My copy has so many flags on so many pages marking notable quotes and things to ponder further.

Definitely read both. The context they were each written in and about is important to both of them. I prefer Atlas Shrugged between the two.
