I read. ‘One Day In The Life of Ivan Denisavitch’ in one sitting back in the 1970s and I still feel cold.

It was written by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn the Nobel Prize winning Russian author. It describes a typical day in a Gulag.

I came across that name during my studies ! I probably just forgot the name of the book. Thank you. I’d be very interested to read this.

To be fair, it is a novella so not difficult to read in one day.

Putting his hand up slowly to say; I don’t think I have ever read a book in less than a week. Oh dear, must read more.

Don’t worry Peter, I too am a slow reader but I have several books on the go at any one time. I suppose I read at talking pace, reading every word. My wife will just skim over the pages that she says are boring and just gets the gist of the story in that way I have known her to read two books in one evening.
