Yes! I’d say the best way to tackle his books is to break them down by their series (which includes no more than 5 books). That way it won’t be as intimidating.

Yes. Except for Magnus Chase. Not too fond of that or the Egyptian books he wrote.

Totally agree!!!! I read all his books and loved them but for some reason Magnus and Apollo were so blah to me.

1
Beverly

I’m a fan of the Apollo ones, but Magnus Chase feels like Percy Jackson 2.0, now with SJW.

@Courtney I def enjoyed the Kane chronicles although I don’t think I finished the series lol

Oh definitely for the Percy Jackson &Heroes of Olympus ones. Kane Chronicles was pretty cool as well. Have read the Magnus Chase trilogy but they were meh….and having a hard time getting into the Apollo ones right now.

My 4th grader loves them all. I read the first series and it was fine, but I didn’t need to read the others.

Try reading the Percy Jackson series 1st. It’s a lot more fun and enjoyable to read than the Norse. I would have had the same opinion as yours if I read Magnus Chase first.

Savannah

I’ve read the Percy Jackson books as well as the heroes of Olympus set. I loved the first book for Magnus Chase! I’m not sure what’s causing me to struggle with the second. >.<

1
Ronette

Hah! Right. I know what you mean. The pace was a little slow with that one, and the 2nd book of Apollo, as well. Maybe because the adventures were less daunting than PJ and HOO series. Riordan gave his best in those first books.

0
Adam

For sure. Read all the PJ themed books, 1.5 of the Magnus Chase. Haven’t read any of the Kane Chronicles but I will soon

I am grateful to Rick Riordan because he got my son hooked on both mythology and reading. However, as an adult, I got tired of his books because I could see all of the plot twists coming from miles away and I got tired of the constant escapes from near-death situations.
