I was a bit disappointed in the selection this month. None of them sounded interesting to me but I ended up with the book about the Russian female pilots in World War II. I’m sorry I can’t remember the name of it right now.

That was not a choice for me. I got something called Halsey Street. I haven’t been impressed with the las two or three. I’m not sure why I was offered a picture book either!

Is this the free books for prime members? I haven’t been taking advantage of this. Please remind me how to find the choices?

Me too. I can’t seem to find the correct place to go to sign up.

Do you need to be a prime member for Amazon Free Reads?

@Rebecca it doesn’t seem so. But I signed up and then when I clicked on a book that interested me, it was $5,69. So maybe I’m not doing it right

Jennifer

@Rebecca I believe so. Mine say “free to prime members” by the price.

I chose Halsey Street for the estranged mother daughter relationship (relatable)

I went with A River in Darkness: One Man’s Escape from North Korea. This is not normally something I would pick, but 1) it fulfills a prompt on my 2017 Reading Challenge 2) it’s short and I’ve got 9 books to go before the end of the year (prolly not gonna make it – I thought it was only 6) and 3) it’s free so even if I don’t like it, I don’t feel I’m losing anything except a little time, but see 1 & 2, so it’s worth it. Oh, and 4) none of the others really appealed to me.

Ok, found it, and also picked A River in Darkness. Sounds interesting considering all the nonsense with missiles and N. Korea.

Yes that’s reason #5 – forgot to list!

Also chose A River in Darkness. I’m currently reading (or trying to read) The Orphan Master’s Son for my library book group. Also North Korea but a novel along the same lines.

Thinking of choosing A River In Darkness. We know so little about what transpires in that country

I googled it. You get to pick 1 advanced copy/Title per month. I believe you need to be a prime member.

Better by far than some months. I got one book free and 2 more at reduced cost. There was much to choose from.
