I agree with “Meh”. It is one of those situations where the write up on the back made my expectations too high. They called it a “psychological thriller”. I found it more interesting than thrilling.
I liked it ok but the first half better than the last plus the premise is sooo ridiculous. Thought the lying game was better. I have not yet read her newest.
Read it last year, and was not a fan. Predictable and formulaic.Finished it grudgingly, mostly to see if what I thought was going to happen did actually occur. It did. Figured it out before I was 100 pages in.
Our Book Club read it as our Sept. book and I had to just binge read to the end. It was so suspenseful and the person I suspected wasn’t the villain over and over again!
I liked A Dark, Dark Wood and was going to read Woman in Cabin 10, but one of my friends, whose reading taste I usually agree with, said not to bother.
I just listened to the audiobook for my book club while on a car trip to/from the woods of Vermont. Read my 4-star review of In a Dark, Dark Wood by Ruth Ware
I really enjoyed it! I just finished the Deathnof Mrs. westaway and it was really good too!
Is that her new one?
Yes
Yes, I enjoyed it
Ruth Ware? I didn’t dislike it but the writing was horrible, in my opinion
I have read all but her newest release & they are all worth it in my opinion.
Loved it.
My mom and I both enjoyed it. Real page-turner
Loved it
I found The Woman in Cabin 10 to be better. Just got two more of her books from the library.
I didn’t mind it, I kind of had to power through. I really enjoyed Women in Cabin 10 and the Lying Game
I read it and liked it ok. But I thought The Woman in Cabin 10 was a little better. I am on the waiting list for Westaway.
I thought The Woman In Cabin 10 was better.
I read and like the Woman in Cabin 10
blah it was pretty predictable. It read almost like the diary of a teenager
Loved it!! I couldn’t put it down!!
Read it ?
LOL I read the picture book . . .
I watched under the tuscan sun toay. Love it, but of course the book is better
I disagree. I thought the film was much better.
Currently on my nightstand, along with The Woman in Cabin 10. Can’t wait to read them both!
Woman in Cabin 10—great book with twists!!
Yes. It was okay!
I agree – I liked it- didn’t think the motive was really solid
It was pretty good. I preferred the Woman in Cabin 10. Looking forward to reading her newest.
Didn’t love it
I did. It was good. But not scary.
Yah, I think that was my issue with that. It was so hyped about how scary it was…but it wasn’t!
I didn’t find it scary, just suspenseful, which is what I prefer.
Her newest one, the death of Mrs. Westaway, is also very good. Love all her books!
I wasnt crazy about it.
That one is Ruth Ware’s best book as far as I’m concerned. I’ve read all four.
I just picked it up and I’m looking forward to reading it!
I have read all of Ruth Ward’s books. I really like her style of writing.
Plowed through it but couldn’t stand Woman in Cabin 10. When you find yourself yelling at the main character for being weak, put the book down
Ohhh, I hated her!
Didn’t like it.
I enjoyed it
Sounds like the year we’re living in…
Not as suspenseful as I had hoped, but still a good book
I liked it. Nice little twists and turns.
I liked it!
Loved it!!!
I listened to it and liked it
Not as good as The Woman in Cabin 10
Agreed
I did. It was good.
Meh.
I liked it but had a nagging question throughout.
I liked it but The Lying Game is better and her new novel The Death of Mrs Westaway is my new favorite of hers
I loved In a Dark, Dark Wood and The Woman in Cabin 10.
I agree with “Meh”. It is one of those situations where the write up on the back made my expectations too high. They called it a “psychological thriller”. I found it more interesting than thrilling.
I just finished it. I agree with “Meh.”
Good to know! ?
I enjoy all her books.
Read it very scary
The Death of Mrs Westaway was good.
Yes. It was okay
Is that Ruth Ware? If so, I liked it!
I liked it ok but the first half better than the last plus the premise is sooo ridiculous. Thought the lying game was better. I have not yet read her newest.
The Mystery story part was fine, I just couldn’t get into the main character enough to care
Just finished it. Was ok.
I hated it! Finished it, but did not enjoy it. I found the characters annoying and didn’t think the story was very good.
Loved that book. Definitely my favorite of Ruth Ware’s books.
No, but I read while camping in the dark, dark woods! ?
I’ve picked it up twice and it’s just ….meh
Just finished it. not a favorite
I wouldn’t read it again.
Read it last year, and was not a fan. Predictable and formulaic.Finished it grudgingly, mostly to see if what I thought was going to happen did actually occur. It did. Figured it out before I was 100 pages in.
I have her new one on reserve at the library.
Just finished it. Liked it better than the Woman in Cabin 10. Was entertained but not blown away.
Our Book Club read it as our Sept. book and I had to just binge read to the end. It was so suspenseful and the person I suspected wasn’t the villain over and over again!
Read it, it was a little better than ok for me. 3.5 stars out of 5.
I liked A Dark, Dark Wood and was going to read Woman in Cabin 10, but one of my friends, whose reading taste I usually agree with, said not to bother.

I’ve enjoyed her books, but they are all starting to read the same.
Yes, meh.
First read by this author, not terrible, but not a favorite.

Enjoyed it.

Yes I hear it’s being made into a movie
Her books are great.
Love her and met her in person. So good!
