I love Jodi Piccolt’s books, but this one is definitely not my favorite. And that is all I am going to say because I firmly believe in “If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.” The nicest thing I can say is that I will not let this book get in my way of enjoying all her other books, and any yet to come. Every author has a miss. “Under the Dome,” in my opinion, was Stephen King’s miss. But there is no point in judging an author by the worst, but by their best, which, for me, by Jodi Piccolt is “Leaving Time.”
it frustrated me. And I really, really like Stephen King. Didn’t finish it. Left the marker in and put it on the shelf. I got about a third of the way through. As I said. Every writer has a miss. For me Under The Dome was King’s miss.
There was another stream on this book-which I started. Good discussion. I almost put it down because it was so upsetting. I couldn’t sleep I was so upset! After a few days I picked it up again and finished. I’m glad I did. I thought one thing was a bit farfetched but …….writing is not my talent. I’ll leave that to the author.
“Small Great Things” was the only Piccoult I’ve read. I thought it was good but felt a little too “after-school special” vibe in parts. Looks like a lot of her titles are about moral dilemmas. Just not my thing.
I cried and was left with much to think over.
Small Great Things? Yes! Powerful book.
Great read. Lots to discuss and think about after finishing.
No
Loved it and it was a great discussion book for our book club. Topic especially relevant in today’s world.
Just started it
Thought it was her best book!
Love all her books.

Wonderful!
I was tired of her for formulaic writing but this was pertinent and well written – much discussion at book club !

What is the title of her latest.

Very formulaic but she does amazing authentic research
I also thought it allowed a conversation between politically divergent people ….
I liked it
Small Great Things was magnificent, IMO
There are definitely about moral dilemmas.
I loved this book. Extremely thought provoking.
Thought provoking. But I liked it
One of the best books I’ve read this year.
Wanted to like it but didn’t
Excellent story. Profoundly relevant in these political times.
Impressive and breathtaking
I love her but have not read her most recent book. My favorite by her is The Storyteller
