I have always loved it as a portrait of a time period and a brave man trying to do the right thing.

It’s a classic, an example of living a life with dignity of the self as well as mutual respect of all humanity. All the characters portray a level of honour that is both heart warming and brave. I have always loved reading it.

I read it in school a long time ago. Remains one of my favorites. Times have changed so it might be a hard read now, but if you consider the time it was written, it’s well worth the read.

I loved it but I’m not one to dissect a book, I enjoyed the story for what it was, a different time and attitude.

I cannot believe I waited to read this until I was an adult. Read it a few times and LOVED it each time. Do not read “Go Set a Watchman” as she did not write it and it was done to make money off her!!! So sad.

This is the first book that moved me deeply. I read it three times while my classmates were putting through in school. It breaks my heart, and yet touches my soul.

Had to study it in school in Australia and I’ve just read a short book about Rosa Parks and the struggles she and others had through the 1930-50’s with the segregation rules of the day. Harper Lee was thinking of these when she wrote ‘mockingbird’.

I haven’t read it whole, after reading 10 pages I don’t know BT I felt sloth. I will try in future to read it again but now I just want to read a light book.

The audiobook might be worth a look into as well. It’s read by Sissy Spacek and she does a really wonderful job.
