My absolute favorite book. ❤️❤️ I cried like a baby in sophomore year high school study hall reading the end. It’s the book that really got me into reading!
I struggled through the first few chapters because the narrator is death, so it was strange, but once I was in, I fell in love with it. I’ve read it twice.
That is one of the things I loved..that Death narrates. It made it refreshingly different and the way he voiced Death as a character was intriguing to me.
@Germaine Sometimes you have to be in the right mood for a certain book. I think I gave it a good go though, other books I could be enjoying. I saw the film so I feel no need to go back to it. ☺
The only thing I actually liked about it was the narrator being death. I didn’t care for the story–which was absolutely baffling because usually I am a sucker for WW2 stuff ESPECIALLY when it’s set in Germany. I will usually sob my eyes out but not with this book. ??
It’s about the Nazi holocaust.
I loved it! I couldn’t put it down!!!!
The book theif by Markus Zusak is highly recommended..
Thanks for your inputs; will turn it as soon as possible!
Narrated by death
It was good, but I thought Sara’s Key was better.
It’s so good!
Awesome! <3 I can't put it into words, you should read it to understand! 🙂
It is a good book
Sitting cosily in my tbr pile… Yet to read it
Kleenex! Lots of Kleenex!
Starts a little slow but becomes a beautiful, moving story fast. Enjoy!

same here – once you get into the voice of the narrator, it’s amazing!!! push through the beginning…
@Donna, I also loved it once I got into it. This book is so beautiful.
@Shannan His prose is so different, so eloquent.
Just could not get on with this one. Tried three times to read it but gave up near the end the third time! Just not for me. Loved the film though. ?
I couldn’t get into it the first time I tried. So it’s sitting on my shelf waiting for its next try.

That’s true. It’s happened with other books that I have liked them on the second or third try.
Could not put it down. Really good story

One of my favorites
When I read it i stopped with a few chapters left because I didn’t want it to be over!❤️❤️
It’s amazing! The first chapter or so is very hard to get through. Persevere. The book is so very worth it!
I loved it so much. Overwhelmed with tears at the end.
Really enjoyed that book
I loved it!
Yes, loved it.
Couldn’t get into it, sadly.
awesome book.
It has a great meaning with a Narrator that you wouldn’t think of to have in a story. Such a good read.
Great book! I definitely want to read it again this year.
It was an excellent book and well worth a reread.
