I am on book 2. The first one was a little like twilight for grown ups, but now I have to finish the series to see what happens.
Loved loved loved. I read the trilogy and then Time’s Convert.

I really liked the 1st and 3rd books. The second one not so much. The stand alone book (Times Convert) is also good
The books are a bit slow-moving but manage to reel you in!
I devoured the trilogy. So good. Then did the same with Time’s Convert when it came out. Oh, then I binged the 1st season of the show, lol.

@Nancy yes! Right now it’s on Sundance Now, but it will be available on AMC and BBC America soon. I did a free trial of Sundance Now, a week, and binged it. It’s only like $6 for the month though. I added the channel to my Amazon prime account.

I enjoyed the first book, but I wasn’t staying up late because I couldn’t put it down. Haven’t yet moved on to the others.

@Cindy I’ve seen the series (got a free trial to Sundance Now on a relatively free week to be able to finish). And I liked it a lot.

DoW started slow for me. I got halfway through before it hooked me, and then I raced through the series.
Taking a break before reading Time’s Convert.
I was really excited for it and barely made it through the first book. It was a slog, felt like grown-up Twilight (and not in a good way), didn’t really hold my attention until about 70% of the way in, and by the time I finished the first book I decided it was just okay. I decided not to continue the series because the first book simply didn’t hook me enough.
That is exactly what I thought.
@Amanda Glad I’m not alone! People really seem to love it and it was just “meh” for me.
ive never seen or read twilight. Any of them so that’s why I’m skeptical about reading. But I guess I can try ??♀️
@Nancy Give it a whirl! I will warn you though that A Discovery of Witches is pretty slow at first though.

I loved it but none of the books are going to be quick reads and they are all packed full of information. It can be a lot to take in. I don’t like Diana (the heroine) but love most all the other characters
Loved it. It was like Twilight for adults. Also, it was written well with real historical significance.

I’m on book 2 “Shadow of Night” now. I’m enjoying the books but her books are slow read for me for some reason. Maybe it’s because the author is very descriptive which some have commented they did not like but I do, it makes the experience more immersive to me.
They are intended as slow reads which was part of what I enjoyed about them 🙂

@Amy It sure was! Time’s Convert seemed even slower to me and I didn’t get into it as much as the original 3.

Big fan. Just finished the next book (not in the trilogy) and watched the Sundance series based on the first book. I had forgotten how much I liked it until then.

I loved it! They are lengthy but I got I to them. Some parts are slow. Last book was my least favorite.
They are amazing!!! And they have done a pretty good job adapting the 1st book for the TV series.
I became so invested with the characters. I thought about the books when I wasn’t reading them and couldn’t wait to get back to them!!
