A fairly “solid” piece of work. It’s not his best, but it is far from his worst.

It’s been about 25 years at least but I did read it and as I have never been disappointed in his books I would have to say I liked it but too long ago to be specific now.

I read it two decades ago but remember enjoying it at that point in my life

A long time ago.
At one point, I was in the middle of the back yard, 2pm, June, sunny, warm, peaceful… and still looking over my shoulder for the creature.
Book so much better than the movie.
While Kevin Smith vehemently disagrees, for me, Joanna Going was the bomb in Phantoms. (Cuz I like cute girls more than I like Ben Affleck.)
Good book.

Similarly, took a very long time and soothing music to get to sleep after the first chapter of Koontz’s “Midnight.” And later in the book I was turning pages faster than I was reading.

Enjoy.

I read it, it seemed a bit like a campfire, small-town ghost story, less like the thrillers he typically does. It was enjoyable, but not what I had hoped after reading The Watchers, Mr. Murder, and False Memory.
