Anyone read anything by Alan gratz?
I’ve not heard of him. What kind of author is he?
He rights about kids in war camps during war. Weather its jews, Japanese, korean, Vietnamese, German. My daughter had him on her Christmas list. She has read a couple of his books from her school library. He can be found in the ya section as well as the children’s section at b&n. I don’t know much on him. Was wondering how appropriate he is for a 12 year old. I don’t want to censor her reading at the same time I don’t feel comfortable with her reading anything in the lines of You. ( it’s a daddy thing and she is my baby)
Have a hard time with my baby girl growing up. She is getting makeup from friends and don’t get me started on what I say is toooo low cut shirts. Or her shoe fetish- high heel boots. Now she wants to read grown up books grrr
@Karl I had boys lol. I just wanted my oldest to pull his pants up and wear a belt lol. I have it easy! Lol
Oh @Karl you’re in for a world of hurt! She’s going to break your heart. I swear my dad cried when I started my period. Funniest/saddest thing. Then he taught me how to put on a pad ????
@Beth what attracted me to my boyfriend was he wears his pants where there suppose to be ?? not at his ankles. I hate that so much!
Saggy pants make them look like they dropped a load. Wife already went thru the girly bathroom stuff with the daughter
My dad liked being involved with the girls things like buying me bras because he missed a lot in my younger years but he would get so emo about it. A grown ass tatted bald man with tears in his eyes at Victoria sercets is life! ?
@Jaimie sounds like you could turn your childhood into an abc comedy ” my dad my mom”
@Karl oh I totally could ??
Never heard of him but now im curious. Im gonna look him up
I have read Refugee and thought it was really good. It was on our Mock Newbery list last year. My 5th graders read it and even though it is a heavy subject, they liked it as well. I have not read any of his other books.
