The Heretic’s Daughter by Kathleen Kent. The author is a descendant of the woman that’s portrayed in the novel.

I taught this play for 17 years. Love it. But it is only accurate in who lives and who dies. Beyond that, very little is accurate. Even the ages are distorted for effect.

I was just thinking I would like to know more about this topic!! I like when witches are portrayed as intelligent healers, or women ahead of their time. I do like Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches series and Deborah Harkness’s All Souls Trilogy.

Crys Hodgens Me, too! I’m quite obsessed! I even won a contest as the “oldest” fan, hahaha! My son was 11 when the first book came out. My husband and I have shared every book, every movie, and a trip to Levesden Studios in London with our son and daughter. I am also a teacher and I get to share HP with my students. I lead a book club and dress in robes, and bring my wands. I have many collectibles. I have the U.S. first editions, multiple sets, and I am hunting UK first editions. I am collecting the new Jim Kay illustrated books, too.
