Mourning Into Dancing. It talks about the mourning in the different stages of life, not just the kind related to death. I read it every year or so because it gives me insight into the sadnesses and losses that effect our ability to live in our most joyful state

Shelter Mountain by Robyn Carr’s Virgin River Series. Not really a self help novel, but it helped me with what was happening in my life and helped me to see the light

Because we need to understand and accept that something is not wrong with us as we are so prone to believe and cause our own suffering.

Some years ago, 15-16 years maybe, I read a book on adult children of alcoholics, of which I am one. It wasn’t life-changing by any means but it helped me realize that I was not as screwed up as I thought, or at least I’m not alone in the screwed-upness.

I have Tony Robbins complete set and I have also been to his Unleash The Power Within seminar twice. Was amazing and life changing. Both times I went home and started something, bought a rental property etc. not for everyone but it really motivated me and the fire walk gave me a real confidence boost in myself. Good luck on your journey x

Man’s Search For Meaning by Viktor Frankl. It gets a bit heavy into logotherapy in the last half, but I am inspired that this man’s holocaust experiences essentially became his own psychological “field study”.

In my mid-twenties I read The Dance Of Anger by Harriet Lerner. It changed my perspective and allowed me to change the way I interacted with people. To this day I apply what I learned from that book and it has changed my life by helping to bring clarity and serenity to it.

Quiet The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking. It’s really the only self help book I’ve read, but it was really eye-opening and informative, esp (or even though?) I’m highly introverted myself.

I don’t know if it’s technically “self help” but Mel Robbins 5 Second Rule and Journal have seriously changed my life. Learning more about the science of the brain along with ways to make my brain be loyal to my heart and passions have been reviving and renewing. I had fallen into a not so great place and I have learned how to be happy being me again.

The life changing magic of tidying up. I read it 3 years ago and it completely transformed my mindset on stuff (though I don’t talk to my stuff…). Releasing stuff from my life allowed room for me to change my eating/health/wellness which lead me to reading it starts with food at the end of 2016. My life is so much simpler, I spend less time trying to organize all my stuff, I’m healthier then I ever imagined and off migraine medication, and I’ve lost 60lbs.

I’m not much for self-help books, but I will say that Women Who Run with the Wolves changed me and my outlook dramatically. I’ll read or listen to just about any of Estes’ books.
