You could go to your local library and see if they have a program in place or would like to start one. You could read to children after school. Or you could go to a nearby assisted living center and read to people who live there. There really might be interest for that.

Not me. Because my brain reads faster than I can speak. I stumble and it drives me nuts so I will not read aloud.

I do. To myself, lol. Especially if what I’m reading is a bit hard to understand. Reading it out loud helps, for some strange reason. Or seems to.

My voice is irritatingly monotone so when I read to my son it takes actual conscious effort to do voices

I enjoy it when someone reads to me, especially at night. Helps me sleep

Me! I love to read aloud. Turns out I am not bad at it. It was how I finally convinced my hubby to read the Harry Potter books. I read them the first five aloud to him, usually when we were driving somewhere. Then,he got hooked on them and finally began reading them on his own. He said I made the books come alive. I have had many people say they love to listen to me read. My son is 13 but he still likes me to read with him. I don’t do voices though, usually.

I don’t but I do read in accents. Like Harry Potter is always British (except Seamus) but then I’ll think in that accent for a bit afterwards. Like a book accent hangover.

I do! When I am alone, or when everyone’s gone to bed.

Find a way to volunteer your reading voice. =D Children’s hospitals, libraries, bookstores, schools, daycares, even animal shelters!

Have you considered volunteer recording for Librivox? Free audio books for the sight-impaired, and anyone, really.

Only if someone else is listening. Otherwise I get absorbed and lapse into silence.

My sister and myself live close , so when I am free specially on weekends , we discuss what we are reading . I mark passages I want to share with her and we read aloud!

Nope. In my head, I read super fast and can soak in the story. Aloud, I stutter and misread and make a fool of myself and the story doesn’t sink in as well.

Sometimes especially on the last part of the book were I feel like I’m the person who’s saying those lines. Haha

I do it when I get excited. I was reading the end of Vicious by V E Schwab and just started doing it. My partner had no idea what was going on but was enthralled ?
