Anyone else like highlighting mistakes you find when you’re reading through a book?

Anyone else like highlighting mistakes you find when you’re reading through a book?
No. Never damage my books
I don’t highlight them but I do love finding them lol ?
Let me rephrase: Does anyone else enjoy making a note of, either physically or mentally, mistakes they find in books? Lol, sorry for the confusion
It’s ok – yes, yes I do! Lol
Yes!
Just like I highlight favorite parts/quotes
@Elohor well, that’s not at all the same lol but that’s a good idea
I love it! Then I can go back and count them!
Yes,
I don’t highlight but they annoy me!!
Yep!
Only if it’s my copy. When I find it done for me in a library book, it distracts me more than the original error or typo because now I have to double-check someone else’s correction. ??
I do. I underline them with pencil.
I always enjoy finding typos in the NYT
Oh my god, we are All sickos!
Yes
No.
I don’t highlight but I always tell myself I should have the person’s job who missed the mistake! That job would be the best!
Ha! As a former teacher I do that when people are reading aloud! Counting the words they read in a minute and tracking mistakes.
I make note of awkward phrasing on audiobooks and cringe! “I went…to the store and…bought a new one.” Not a direct quote, but it was that awkward.
They bother me too.
Yes!
I don’t highlight them but I find them all the time! Drives me crazy ?
Yes, I note them but don’t do any markup. And if they keep piling up it’s one of the things that will cause me to stop reading it. Text rife with errors drives me nuts. ?
Precisely my sentiments. Consistent errors change my entire perspective of the book.
@Eli, exactly!
Although one clever writer has given his narrator-hero an unfinished HS education and a hard-won GED. His errors are part of the character.
@Mari, agreed, I do give a pass for intentional, character-driven “errors” (which are not actually errors at all).
Umm nope lol
My mom use to lightly circle them with pencil
??
haha, yes, I do that! I thought I was alone in the world…
No
With the kindle, you can turn them in. 🙂
ooh, I didn’t know that…I find typos far more prevalent in e-books
@Jennifer It has to be an actual kindle, not an app. But you highlight the error, and then something pops up and you then select “report content error.”
Then, you can keep track of whether or not it got fixed on your Manage my devices page. Very satisfying, lol
@Rosemary Thanks! I will definitely do that from now on!
Yep
I hate finding typos. Very unprofessional !!
Hate inconsistencies and inaccuracies (just read a Jane Austen ripoff and the modern language KILLED me – library book…someone else highlighted them and then gave up
Nooooo. Nothing can bring me to write in a book. I have to use sticky notes for required annotations but avoid them as much as I can
i super highlighted it in this book.
My brother used to do this and it drives me crazy!!!!
As a crocheter, this almost killed me. ☠
I sympathize.
Yep, do it ALL the time ?
It drives me crazy when someone does that to a library book. I hate grammatical errors as much as anyone but pointing out typos in a book shared by many annoys me.
Yes!!!!
I would neever write in a book that didn’t belong to me. I would hesitate to do that to my own book, but that is just me.
No and never would its a bit anal really!
I don’t mark a book but my pet peeve is seeing to….for too. It’s everywhere.
At one time I never wrote in books. Then I went to graduate school.
You’re like me
Sam we had to go to college to learn to be stupid
Yep
FSU where in Wales are you North or South
Mid Wales
@Linda
Where abouts are you?
@Dai husband from clywd
??
I prefer to let them irritate me without actually marking up the book.
I do not mark book but comment in review of book.
No. I never write in books even if I don’t like them.
People do it in library books and I find it annoying
