I’ve been hoarding books for about 5 years lol

Nope. I have plenty to read. I’m sure by that time I’ll own more, so I’ll be covered no matter what

I have enough books already to do goodreads challenges for about 5 years (predicting about 30-40 books per year) so I’m not going out of my way to hoard more…lol. But I know it’s going to happen anyway!

No, me neither. I have so many already bought or on my “to read” list that I don’t think I’ll ever catch up. That’s okay. ?

Jeff

No. I already have 3000+ on my TBR

Well, I’ve got about 80 unread books on my shelves, and I’m aiming to cut that down a good bit next year, so I have already made a reading list for the first few months of next year, which will be included in my Goodreads 2019 challenge.

I’ve just been hoarding books because of who I am as a person. It’s nice that you have a reason though, I admire that.

I am trying NOT to buy any more books – besides the ones i have preordered – until I read all oft he ones I have TBR

I’ve got a measly 90+ on my bookshelves plus however many on my kindle and nook apps so I don’t need anymore. I do need to start thinking about the ones I want to put in my challenge for next year.

2

Kurio

I think, and hope I can stick to it, that all I currently have planned to buy is the rest of the books for the series I already have. Which isn’t very many preorders now that I think of it

2
Reply
Linda

Thats what I am “trying” to do – just preorder books in a series

1
Kurio

I don’t know how well it will work, but we can try

Katie

I’m attempting to do this too. I want to read what’s on my shelves, so I’m only planning to buy one book, which is the last in a series. I’m aiming for the rest to either be library books or books from my shelves. I’ve told myself I’m only allowed to buy books I’ve already read and love enough to want to have my own copy of. That should cut down my book buying considerably!

1
Cassandra

No need to hoard I have plenty lol

I’ve enabled @Dodi, by selling her books through eBay. 🙂

I just heard about the good read challenges! I’ve been missing out! I have 12 on the way from book outlet, that will give me a good start!

2

Katie

There are groups on Goodreads that do challenges as well. Some of them are really interesting and fun.

1
Maryann

@Katie really? I’ll have to check it out! Thank you!

1
Katie

You’re welcome. I think if you search reading challenges, you should find some good groups 🙂

1
Megan

Yep I’ve got about 30 or so put aside for next year.

I wish we all lived closer because I hoard books just for the sheer hell of it and would be happy to lend them. My nieces read voraciously; that’s my only comfort

http://bookoutlet.com/ has an amazing Black Friday sale still going on now too

2
Kurio

Cuz books are life. I’ve had book buying withdrawals where all I can think about is why didn’t I grab these when I went to buy stuff. And I’ll obsess until I get them.

1
Jennifer

The last 5 books I read before the challenge came out would have been perfect…..so annoyed!!!! ?

Kurio

Why not add them to it since you read them?

1
Jennifer

@Kurio Because I didn’t read them in 2019. I would feel like I was cheating ?

0
Kurio

Fair enough. I’ve read so many over the years, just trying to add them all to Goodreads is a challenge. I haven’t written a review for any of them. I plan to when I go back and reread them. Was never sure how to classify them, seeing as it’s been over the course of 8 years

1
Shelley

Me!!!! I have 16 more books on the way from the black Friday sale at Book Outlet ???

3
Reply
Kurio

Only 16? I usually don’t go til I hit at least 30

2
Shelley

I know right! It was actually my smallest order from there. But I asked for a gift card for Christmas from there so I will be back! ?

2
Kurio

I always shoot for the free shipping and they always have stuff I want. When that box shows it’s like Christmas day all over again

2
Shelley

Exactly!!!! ?

I hoard books anyway…

I use my library ALOT. 575 is a pretty lofty goal! ?I thought I was doing well surpassing my 125 goal by reading 186!
