Anyone else enjoying the BBC 1 adaptation of The Cry? It is 4 years since I read the book by Helen Fitzgerald, but can’t quite remember the outcome
Anyone else enjoying the BBC 1 adaptation of The Cry?
It is 4 years since I read the book by Helen Fitzgerald, but can’t quite remember the outcome
Yes
I’ve only seen the first episode, quite enjoyed it though
@Dee. It gets better with each episode
@Susan The going back & forth was a bit annoying to be honest. Going to carry on watching though
@Dee, Confusing too.
@Dee I agree.
I watched most of the second episode last night & its still throwing me with going back & forth!
@Dee just bought the kindle & will record & watch later.
So far so good ?
You don’t want to know ?. I remember the book….
I think it’s really good, but it was a tough gig to follow Bodyguard!
@Katherine. I think being completely different helped
@Susan loved Bodyguard!
@Lin Have you watched Line Of Duty ? Written by the same chap
@Susan oh yes! Collecting DVDs too.
@Lin Absolutely brilliant show !
Could not get into that one at all.
@Jan Backwards and forwards a lot.
Indeed – and too angsty for my tastes.
I’ve ordered the book and plan to watch it on catch up when I’ve finished reading it. X
@Heather Although it is a while since I read it. I do think the mother, Joanne fits the part brilliantly
Ive just purchased it and like Heather am planning to read it before I finish watching the series x
Yep never watched last night went the Match @Susan ynwa ha ha but will watch it later 1st episode gripped me xx
Pretty good result too. A win would have been better
@Susan yea it would but got away with the missed peno ? but onwards and upwards ?
@Pauline Better than us we look like down and out! ?
@Susan I know feel so sorry for Raffa and the fans ☹
I read book. So i know the whole story. Pm me if you want to know x
@Jennifer o no not me I will watch it but cheers ☺
Never guess in a million years x
Liking it so far, though one thing I do regret is that it conveys very little of how blackly funny the novel was – which is Helen FitzGerald’s greatest strength IMO. I read the book a couple of years ago, and in addition to being totally blindsided by where it ultimately went, I also remember laughing out loud several times at Joanna’s inner thoughts. The TV version, in comparison, feels a lot more… well, po-faced, for want of a better word.
Recording it. ?❤️
Yes. Hooked. X
I’m hooked too xx
I am loving it x
