All of the earlier suggestions are great, but don’t forget the recently deceased Sue Grafton. Start with “A is for Alibi,” and you’ve got 25 books to read. It is sad that the alphabet ends with Y.
Dark Town and Lightening Men by Thomas Mullen. A new series about the first black police force in Atlanta, I believe. I enjoyed the second book more than the first but that might only be because I now have a relationship with the characters.
A Simple Plan by Scott Smith. Two brothers find a bag full of money. ….and come up with a simple plan. That’s all I’m going to say.
Is the book better than the movie?
I’ve not seen the movie. Books are always better. But if you’re like me I can’t read it after I’ve seen the movie.
Peter May’s Lewis Trilogy. The first one is Blackhouse..such wonderful writing.
I’m going to try that series. Thanks.
I liked Louise Penny series Chief Armand Gamache
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
That’s the best one I’ve read so far. I’m looking for something similar. ?
Elizabeth George.
Greg Iles’s books always hold my attention.
I think I still have one of yours….
That’s okay. Pass it on to someone. ?
Agatha Christie is the best, most of her are great. Cards on the Table probably my favourite, and Mrs McGinty’s Dead
P. D. James
